Health Benefits: 5-HTP stands for 5-hydroxytryptophan, and it is extracted from the seeds of Griffonia simplicifolia, a plant native to Africa. As a result of 5-HTP being the immediate precursor to the “feel-good” neurotransmitter, serotonin, it has been shown in research to aid in stress management, healthy sleep cycles, as well as satiety and weight management.
